‘Journey’s’ Review by Robert E Moore MOVIES/TV by Robert Moore - June 5, 2026 An interesting, but ultimately overlong documentry on the potential success of psychedelic substances to treat such ailments as PTSD and other mental illness topics. Director Christopher James Cramer gives the viewer a well detailed and varied set of interviews with medical experts, therapists, and their clients which includes battle fatigued military veterans and everyday people suffering from other forms of PTSD including domestic violence and sexual abuse. The viewer can’t not be moved by some of the stories harrowingly told from the interviewees and how mushrooms and other organic substances (such as MDMA and Ketamine) can help treat and potentially heal these intense traumas and memories that effect their lives on a daily basis along with their loved ones. The care to interview so many different medical experts on the subject shows the meticulous research by Cramer and the filmmakers but endless talking heads and a lack of production value place the film squarely in the educational realm only. At nearly two hours the film starts to feel like homework over entertainment. USA, 2026. 119 Mins. Available to rent/buy on Amazon Prime.
