Nonpoint // Live @ Blue Note Harrison // 8.9.26 CONCERT REVIEWS FEATURED MUSIC by Linda Carlson - August 15, 2026 Article & photos: Linda Carlson Harrison, OH – The cozy Blue Note Harrison, nestled just west of Cincinnati, Ohio, offers touring bands an opportunity to perform an intimate show between often jam-packed larger venues. On any given night, Blue Note Harrison might spotlight local/regional bands or you can find large-venue headliners getting to know their fans up close. With the stage nestled in a corner of the low-ceilinged banquet room, complete with casual bar tables and stools, the overall experience is close and personal. This particular evening hosted three dynamic bands on Nonpoint’s “The Even More…Outta Control Tour,” with each bringing its own brand of blazing energy. The tour’s lineup has varied a bit during the course of the tour, and on this evening, the bands brought the 1990s rock, rap, hip hop, alternative metal vibe to a welcoming audience. First to take the stage was Hed P.E., a Huntington Beach, California alternative band infused with distinctive hip hop, gansta rap and punk rock elements. The band was originally formed in 1994, with a number of band member changes over time, and is currently comprised of founding member Jared Gomes (lead vocals), Kurt Blankenship (bass), Nathan Javier (guitar) and Stephen Arango (drums). hed P.E. The band has launched Creator One Records, and is promoting their upcoming album, Relapse. Their latest song, “Violent Girl” is now available on streaming platforms. Gomes is a consummate showman, injecting humor into the evening’s performance, talking with the crowd throughout with a smile. Although his hat largely covered his eyes throughout the show, there were times when those twinkling eyes emerged. hed P.E. Their set was strong, pulling from 14 studio albums as recent as 2023 (Detox). A solid shout-out to Blankenship and Arango for particularly dynamic bass and drum performances. Next to perform was Spineshank, a nu-metal band from Los Angeles. The band is Jonny Santos (vocals), Tommy Decker (drums), Tommy Decker, Jr (guitar) and James Mills (bass). Spineshank Santos is an absolutely savage front man. He taps into deep recesses and takes fans on a journey fueled by anger, pain and savagery. His face expressed every emotion, and he held nothing back. The band performed an eight-song set, beginning with “Asthmatic,” and closing with “Dead To Me.” Spineshank After bringing a long, raised platform to the front of the stage, Nonpoint, was ready to roll. The band is comprised of founding members Elias Soriano (vocals) and Robb Rivera (drums), joined by Rasheed Thomas (rhythm guitar), Adam Woloszyn (bass) and Jaysin Zeilstra (lead guitar). Nonpoint The crowd was ready for this Florida band, and enthusiastically erupted as Nonpoint hit the stage. Constant motion, reverberating beats – using the platform to showcase various band members throughout the set. The band is heavily promoting their upcoming September 18, 2026, eleventh studio album, The Last Word. The album is being released through the band’s independent record label, 361 Degrees Records LLC. Their singles “Is It” and “Red Yeti” are streaming online now. Nonpoint All in all, a night of solid 1990s alternative rock, nu-metal, hip hop, reggae and rap, brilliantly intertwined and wholeheartedly embraced by fans. “The Even More… Outta Control Tour” continues, but there are only a few stops left!
