Filter // Live @ Bogart’s // 3.23.26 CONCERT REVIEWS FEATURED MUSIC by Linda Carlson - March 31, 2026 Article & photos: Linda Carlson Cincinnati, OH – Bogart’s featured three prominent 1990s bands, with headliner Filter and openers Finger Eleven and Local H. These three rock bands have shared the stage a number of times over the years, which might explain why the evening’s flow of music and rhythm felt so seamless. First on stage was Local H, who like Filter, was formed in 1990. The band is an incredible duo, with Scott Lucas (lead vocals, guitar) and Ryan Harding (drums, backing vocals), who have a special gift for filling a venue with a powerful blast of energy. Two musicians, one explosion of invigorating sound. On this evening, Local H certainly did not disappoint. Lucas brought a collected, cool element to the performance, balancing Harding’s non-stop dynamism on the drums. Local H Local H Next on stage was Finger Eleven, a definite crowd favorite. This Canadian group is currently comprised of founding members Scott Anderson (lead vocals), James Black (lead guitar), Rick Jackett (rhythm guitar), and Sean Anderson (bass), as well as long-time drummer Steve Molella. Over the years, the band has released several songs that evoke an emotional nostalgia, particularly when performed live, including “Paralyzer” and “One Thing,” both of which were performed on this evening. Yes, the crowd sang along… Finger Eleven Filter closed the evening with a smashing performance. Founded in 1993 in Cleveland (shout-out to my hometown!), the band is Richard Patrick (lead vocals), Jonny Radke (guitar), Ben Flanagan (guitar), Bobby Miller (bass), and Elias Mallin (drums). Patrick frequently addressed the crowd, giving a shout-out to Bogart’s, sharing that he’s been performing there since he was 19. He passionately encouraged crowd-surfing, and a circle pit formed while the band played “All The Good.” Filter Patrick remarked, “We’re going to sing something mellow, because… why not?” and proceeded to sing “Take My Picture,” with elegant, evocative vocals, but afterward brought back the rock energy, “Let’s get back to moshing!” Filter The band’s set was terrific: You Walk Away The Drowning (Can’t You) Trip Like I Do Face Down All the Good Take a Picture No Love Obliteration Jurassitol Thoughts and Prayers Dose Be Careful What You Wish For Happy Birthday to You (or Elias Mallin’s birthday) Drug Boy Welcome to the Fold Hey Man Nice Shot This tour closes on April 1, in Cleveland.
