Immortal Technique // Live @ Los Globos // 5.23.25 CONCERT REVIEWS FEATURED MUSIC by Rudy Salgado - June 2, 2025 Felipe Coronel, better known as Immortal Technique, is a Peruvian-American rapper and activist known for his commentary on social and political issues. His albums Revolutionary Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are widely known in underground hip-hop, and his activism. Whether it’s speaking out against systemic injustice, promoting education, or philanthropy, he has earned respect far beyond music. On May 23, 2025, he returned to the stage at Los Globos in Los Angeles. The night opened with local MCs getting the crowd ready, and Poison Pen, a long-time friend and collaborator. When Immortal Technique stepped up, wearing a bulletproof vest, it wasn’t for show. It was a visual reminder of the real-world issues he talks about in his music. Dj Static was behind the decks, showing the crowd how real DJing is done. At one point, Tech shouted him out, saying Dj Static is a real DJ who actually puts in work, unlike others who just push buttons and call themselves DJs. Snow Tha Product was spotted at the side of the stage, supporting Immortal Technique and soaking in the energy of the night. Throughout his set, Tech ran through tracks that touched on injustice, corruption, and personal struggles. Between songs, he took moments to thank the crowd for their continued support over all these years, while also encouraging them to do better. He called out men in particular, reminding them to treat women with respect and to take care of themselves, so they don’t get caught up in things they could avoid and can make it home safe to their families. Tech has done numerous shows throughout SoCal brought to you by the amazing team at Out Da House Productions, I’m glad I was able to attend one of them to enjoy hip-hop that speaks on real issues and truths that demand attention and change.
